en.Wedoany.com Reported - KT announced on the 12th the establishment of an Information Security Advisory Committee, composed of experts in policy systems, technical security, industrial services, AI, and zero trust, aimed at building a user-trusted information security system to proactively respond to increasingly severe cyber threats.
The inaugural advisory committee members include Park Chun-sik, Director of the Korea Zero Trust Security Association; Jeong Eun-soo, Professor of Digital Security at Cheongju University; Kwak Jin, Professor of Cybersecurity at Ajou University; Yoon Myung-geun, Professor of AI at Kookmin University; Kim Hong-seon, Advisor at Kim & Chang Law Firm; Park Cheol-jun, Professor of Computer Engineering at Kyung Hee University; and Choi Gwang-hee, Advisor at Shinyoung Law Firm. This committee is an external advisory body established by KT to address the rapid changes in the external security environment, improve its security posture, and strengthen information security governance centered on proactive prevention. It will objectively review KT's information security strategies and major policies, explore solutions to future security threats, and support the establishment of a global-level information security system.

The committee will provide advisory services for the formulation and execution of KT's mid- to long-term information security strategies, covering key areas such as strategies to counter future security threats including AI attacks and misuse of generative AI, introduction of AI security technologies, establishment of a zero-trust-based security system, and upgrades to authentication, access control, and monitoring systems.
With the proliferation of AI technology and the full-scale cloud transformation, the committee will focus on core areas such as AI security, cloud security, and network security to enhance KT's ability to address future threats, solidify the zero-trust-based security system, and strengthen security protection. KT CEO Park Yoon-young stated that the company will translate the insights of Korea's top experts into action to complete a proactive prevention system based on zero trust.
