en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 9, the 9,000-ton special liquid cargo vessel "Quanzhou Bay," owned by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers, was successfully named and delivered in Fuzhou. The vessel integrates multiple technologies such as green environmental protection, intelligent energy efficiency, and digital delivery, and has obtained four additional notations from the China Classification Society, making it a high-performance vessel launched by COSCO Shipping in the special liquid cargo sector.

The "Quanzhou Bay" has an overall length of 119.8 meters, a design speed of 13 knots, and a range of 12,000 nautical miles, classed with the China Classification Society. The vessel adopts a new low-resistance hull form and multiple energy-saving devices, achieving industry-leading levels of energy efficiency and emission reduction, and meeting the International Maritime Organization's Tier III nitrogen oxide emission standards. The cargo tanks are specially designed to safely carry various liquid cargoes such as refined oil with a flash point above 60 degrees Celsius, asphalt, and Class II chemicals, meeting the diversified operational needs of customers.
In terms of intelligent systems, the "Quanzhou Bay" is equipped with three major categories of digital and intelligent systems: safety intelligence, ship intelligence, and crew intelligence. These cover an intelligent integration platform, intelligent engine room, intelligent energy efficiency, intelligent spare parts management, collision avoidance warning, crew behavior perception, VR ship viewing, and intelligent water rescue equipment, enabling full-scenario digital and intelligent empowerment for safety management and laying the foundation for building a ship digital twin system.

The "Quanzhou Bay" has obtained four important additional notations from the China Classification Society. The "Digital Delivery" notation (Digital Delivery (HD,ED)) indicates that the shipowner has completely and accurately received the ship and marine product data, opening up the data channel from design and construction to operation. The "Underwater Noise" notation (Underwater Noise2(10-100Hz); Underwater Noise 1(100-100000Hz)) makes this vessel a low-noise commercial transport ship certified by the China Classification Society. The "Biodiesel Fuel" notation (Biodiesel Fuel) proves that the vessel has the capability to use biodiesel, effectively reducing carbon emissions. The "Intelligent Energy Efficiency" notation (i-ship(E)) marks the intelligent upgrade of the vessel in navigation management, energy efficiency monitoring, and equipment operation and maintenance.
Special liquid cargo vessels have specific requirements for cargo tank insulation, loading and unloading systems, and safety and environmental protection designs, with complex construction processes and high technical thresholds. The naming and delivery of the "Quanzhou Bay" reflects COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers' practices in ESG sustainable development. Currently, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers owns and controls 18 special liquid cargo vessels, with ship types covering 6,000 to 13,000 deadweight tons and a total capacity of 142,200 deadweight tons. With the gradual addition of the 9,000-ton series vessels, the tiered transport capacity of COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers' fleet in the special liquid cargo field will be further strengthened, and the flexibility of capacity allocation and market service capabilities will also be enhanced.
