en.Wedoany.com Reported - The EPCIC project for the 65km natural gas pipeline in Samalaju, Sarawak, undertaken by CCCC Malaysia, has successfully completed the hydrostatic test for the entire offshore and onshore pipeline system. A stable pressure of 121.4 bar was maintained for 24 hours, with all pressure and temperature records meeting design documents and specification requirements. This marks the completion of pipeline pigging, calipering, and hydrostatic testing, representing another key milestone following the full offshore and onshore pipeline connection, laying the foundation for subsequent project commissioning.

The hydrostatic test covered the entire offshore and onshore pipeline system, comprehensively verifying the quality of the main works and system integrity. Test results showed that the pipeline system exhibited good pressure-bearing performance, with welds, pipes, flanges, and auxiliary facilities all meeting design and specification requirements, validating the pipeline's pressure capacity, welding integrity, sealing performance, and construction quality.

Prior to the hydrostatic test, the project team completed systematic pigging and calipering procedures. Continuous pigging operations ensured internal cleanliness of the pipeline met contract and commissioning requirements; calipering confirmed the pipeline's internal diameter inspection was satisfactory. These preparatory steps supported the successful first-attempt hydrostatic test.

During project construction, the project team coordinated offshore and onshore construction resources, strengthened quality, safety, and schedule control, and addressed challenges in construction organization, interface coordination, and commissioning preparation. The completion of the overall pipeline hydrostatic test indicates that the main works have transitioned from the mechanical completion phase to the commissioning preparation phase.

Next, the project team will advance pipeline dewatering, drying, nitrogen inerting, and commissioning preparation to ensure the project is completed safely, with high quality, and efficiently.
