en.Wedoany.com Reported - LS ELECTRIC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Infineon Technologies AG of Germany to jointly develop direct current (DC) core power technology for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

On July 13, LS ELECTRIC announced that it signed an MOU with Infineon at its R&D campus in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, covering cooperation in DC power technology for AI data centers and next-generation power grids. The signing ceremony took place on July 10.
Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly develop next-generation DC power technology centered on power semiconductors, specifically including power conversion systems (PCS) for energy storage systems (ESS), solid-state transformers (SST), and solid-state circuit breakers (SSCB). DC technology based on power semiconductors can reduce the number of power conversion stages, lower energy losses, and improve system efficiency, making it a key enabler for AI data centers operating in ultra-high power density environments.
The collaboration will focus on improving the power and voltage conversion efficiency of next-generation DC power systems while enhancing their stability and reliability. LS ELECTRIC will leverage its expertise in power systems and industrial automation to lead system design, integration, and deployment, driving technology commercialization. Infineon will be responsible for developing efficient, high-performance DC power infrastructure systems based on its power semiconductor and power control technologies.
