en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, 2026, the Yenisei branch of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision (Rostechnadzor) of the Russian Federation has approved the commissioning of new equipment at the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Plant (Krasnoyarsk HPP). Following expert inspections, the power transformer and the third runner of the water turbine at the plant were found to comply with current legal requirements with no violations, leading the supervisory authority's press service to issue an operating permit.

With the new equipment in operation, the power plant's electricity output will increase by 2.7%, while enhancing the operational reliability of the energy facility. These upgrades are part of En+ Group's "New Energy" program, which aims to modernize the cascade of hydroelectric power plants on the Angara and Yenisei rivers, increasing power generation under the same water flow through the turbines. Additionally, the program seeks to reduce the carbon footprint by cutting greenhouse gas emissions from the company's coal-fired power plants.
