en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Wuwei Smart Green Energy Sishui Town Independent Shared Energy Storage Project, invested and constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CEEC) Zhongdian Engineering, has a total installed capacity of 240MW/960MWh and a total investment of 1.22 billion yuan. The second phase of the project is currently under construction.

Located in Sishui Town, Gulang County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, this project is a key initiative under Gansu Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" for energy development. The project adopts a north-south "linear" layout and is being built in two phases, with CEEC Zhongdian Engineering Gansu Institute serving as the EPC contractor. The first phase, with an installed capacity of 105MW/420MWh and an investment of 700 million yuan, was completed and connected to the grid for commercial operation in June 2025. All 108 energy storage units in the first phase are in use, and supporting facilities such as the 330 kV main transformer, SVG equipment, and power distribution rooms are operating stably. A cumulative investment of 650 million yuan has been completed, and the project has been successfully connected to the power grid via a 330 kV step-up substation.

Project manager Kong Weijia stated that as an independent shared energy storage facility, the core functions of this storage station are energy storage for peak shaving and green electricity consumption. The station stores electricity during peak periods of new energy generation and releases power during peak demand periods, addressing the volatility and intermittency of wind power and photovoltaic power generation, alleviating grid peak shaving pressure and bottlenecks in new energy transmission. Since its first phase was put into operation, it has continuously participated in grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, emergency backup, and other services, ensuring regional power supply and demand balance.

The second phase is currently under construction and is expected to connect to the grid in November 2026. Once the entire project is completed, it is projected to generate an annual output value of 290 million yuan, contribute 40 million yuan in annual tax revenue, and create employment opportunities for local residents. From construction to later-stage operation and maintenance, the project will provide job opportunities for the local community.
