en.Wedoany.com Reported - Taiwan-based solar module supplier Winaico has launched a new back-contact (BC) solar module for rooftop applications. The company is a subsidiary of technology firm Win Win Precision Technology Co. Ltd.

The manufacturer stated that the new glass-glass module achieves a power density of 245 W/m², setting a new standard in its performance class. By placing interconnect ribbons on the rear side and using slightly larger cells, the module delivers this performance, making it particularly suitable for applications with limited rooftop space, where maximum energy yield and high aesthetic standards are required.
The back-contact series module uses 108 monocrystalline n-type bifacial half-cut cells, with a rated power output of 500 W and a module efficiency of 24.5%. The module dimensions are 1800 mm × 1134 mm × 35 mm, and it weighs 25 kg. Its open-circuit voltage is 40.84 V, short-circuit current is 15.18 A, and temperature coefficient is -0.26%/°C.
The module uses an ethylene-vinyl acetate/polyolefin elastomer/ethylene-vinyl acetate (EPE) encapsulation layer, sandwiched between 2 mm high-transparency front glass and 2 mm partially black-printed rear glass, creating an "Ultra Black" appearance. Winaico also applies an unspecified cell-level shading technology to reduce power loss under partial shading conditions.
As a bifacial module, the panel can generate additional electricity from rear-side irradiance. The manufacturer claims that under optimal conditions, with a 20% bifacial gain, the output power can reach up to 600 W, depending on factors such as ground albedo and installation environment.
In terms of mechanical durability, the module is equipped with a 35 mm black anodized aluminum frame, designed to improve resistance to glass breakage. Tests show a maximum mechanical load of 5,400 Pa on the front side and 2,400 Pa on the rear side. The electrical design includes an IP68-rated junction box with three bypass diodes.
The module complies with IEC 61215:2021 and IEC 61730:2023 standards, and has passed anti-PID testing per IEC TS 62804-1 as well as hail resistance tests. According to Winaico, the glass-glass structure and optimized cell layout help reduce the risk of long-term microcrack formation.
Winaico offers a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty for the back-contact series. Warranty conditions include a maximum degradation of 1% in the first year, followed by no more than 0.35% annual degradation from the second to the thirtieth year, guaranteeing at least 88.85% of the initial rated power after 30 years. Additionally, the manufacturer provides a one-year comprehensive insurance coverage for the entire solar system as an extra measure to protect installers and system owners.
