en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 2026 China International Gold Conference will be held in Gansu, bringing together domestic and international gold industry experts, corporate representatives, and stakeholders across the supply chain to exchange insights on industry trends and cooperation opportunities.

The development of Gansu's gold industry benefits from the region's abundant resource endowments. The West Qinling gold metallogenic belt in southern Gansu is one of China's key gold mineralization areas, attracting attention from geological and industry circles both domestically and internationally. Resource exploration and development efforts in this region have formed a development pattern centered on Longnan and Gannan. Representative mining areas such as the Lizi Gold Mine, Zaozigou Gold Mine, Liba Gold Mine, and Daqiao Gold Mine provide significant resource support for the industry.

The Zaozigou Gold Mine in Hezuo City, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, located at the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, covers an area of 2.53 square kilometers with an average altitude of 3,270 meters. It holds gold resource reserves of 120 tons and produces over 3,120 kilograms of gold annually. In March of this year, its project "Mineral Prediction and Prospecting Breakthrough in the National Integrated Exploration Area of the West Qinling Gold Belt" won the Special Prize of the China Gold Association Science and Technology Award. In recent years, with the advancement of a new round of strategic prospecting breakthroughs, Gansu has conducted basic geological surveys, mineral resource assessments, and deep exploration in key areas such as the West Qinling and Beishan regions, employing various technical methods to enhance resource discovery capabilities. A series of new exploration results have supported the sustainable development of the industry.

In terms of industrial extension, Gansu's gold industry has formed a pattern based on resource development with an increasingly extended industrial chain. Companies such as China National Gold Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Gold Group Co., Ltd., Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Zhaojin Group Co., Ltd. are all involved in local resource development and industrial cooperation. Jinchuan Group (Lanzhou) Precious Metals Co., Ltd., leveraging the non-ferrous metals industrial foundation of Jinchuan Group, focuses on the deep processing of precious metals such as gold and silver, driving the industry's expansion into processing and manufacturing. Additionally, Gansu is exploring new pathways for integrating the gold industry with cultural creativity, capitalizing on its cultural resource advantages.

Dunhuang culture has become an important vehicle for Gansu's gold industry to express new value. Projects such as the Dunhuang Gold R&D and Production Base develop products around the Dunhuang cultural IP, incorporating elements like Apsaras, the Nine-Colored Deer, caisson ceilings, and lotus flowers into designs for gold bars, gold medals, and collectibles. Local enterprise Linzhao Jewelry combines traditional techniques such as filigree and engraving with new Chinese-style designs. Consumer spaces like Dunhuang Gold·Mogao Gold Store integrate gold sales with cultural experiences.

The hosting of the 2026 China International Gold Conference will further promote exchange and cooperation in the gold industry and provide a platform to showcase Gansu's gold industry development practices. The conference will discuss topics such as resource security, technological innovation, green development, and industrial synergy.
