en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tarragona Cruise Port (TCP), the concessionaire of the passenger terminal at the Port of Tarragona (Puerto de Tarragona), has recently obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications from Bureau Veritas, marking its compliance with international standards in service quality and environmental management.

The management system covers boarding and disembarking operations, safety control, and baggage handling, ensuring that passenger processes meet internationally recognized quality and sustainability standards. The dual certifications obtained this time respectively validate the terminal's practices in these two areas.

The ISO 9001 certification focuses on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, while the ISO 14001 certification highlights its commitment to environmental protection, pollution prevention, and rational resource utilization.

To achieve the certification goals, the terminal has implemented a range of specific measures, including optimizing operational procedures, enhancing coordination between cruise lines and service providers, improving employee training, establishing incident response plans, and strengthening environmental controls such as waste management and resource efficiency.

This certification comes during a period of rapid business growth for the port. In 2025, a total of 63 cruise ships docked, and this number is expected to increase to 80 in 2026, further solidifying its position as an emerging cruise hub in the Western Mediterranean and continuously enhancing its appeal to major global cruise lines.

TCP stated that obtaining the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications fully reflects the team's dedication and professionalism, reaffirming the company's commitment to implementing sustainable development principles while providing safe, efficient, and high-quality services.
