en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tianjin Port Group's cargo throughput in the first half of the year increased by over 2% year-on-year, and container throughput grew by over 6% year-on-year, both reaching record highs, achieving a "double half" target in production and operations.

Huo Chenchen, Deputy Manager of the Operations Department at Tianjin Port's Second Container Terminal, is formulating a berthing and unloading plan for the upcoming "Nevada" vessel at the intelligent control center. The direct container liner route from Tianjin Port to South Africa, launched in mid-April, has operated 12 voyages to date, establishing a stable logistics corridor between Tianjin Port and South Africa's Coega Port and Durban Port. Yu Yue, Manager of the Liner Department at Tianjin Ocean Shipping Agency Co., Ltd., stated that the route reduces the shortest voyage from Tianjin to South African ports to just 40 days, with Tianjin Customs assisting in streamlining processes such as route filing, vessel entry, and cargo clearance to provide efficient services.
In the first half of the year, Tianjin Port Group focused on strengthening both maritime and land-based corridors. On the maritime front, in addition to launching the South Africa route, the Ocean Alliance's US West Coast line made its maiden call at Tianjin Port, while upgrading domestic premium channels such as "Maritime Express FAST," "Two-Port One-Voyage," and "Three-Port One-Voyage," and enhancing specialty routes like the "Fruit Express." On the land front, the group improved its "Network + Train + Hub" multimodal transport system, deploying multiple dry ports and "hundreds" of direct-sale and franchise stores to achieve full coverage of services in the port's main hinterland; it opened over 40 sea-rail intermodal train services, including 33 scheduled operations; Tianjin International Multimodal Transport Company coordinated the operation of China-Europe (Asia) freight trains, with the first-half shipment volume increasing by 6.3% year-on-year, and the company's self-operated trains growing by 94.6% year-on-year.
Currently, Tianjin Port has opened over 150 container routes, with trade links to more than 500 ports in over 180 countries and regions. A relevant official from Tianjin Port Group noted that through initiatives such as the "Four Thousand Campaign" and "Spring Rain Campaign," services have been brought forward, with coordinated efforts with port authorities to implement measures like "first-out, then-in," "direct terminal transfer," and "precise vessel scheduling," while establishing a "Year of Chain Extension" themed activity to promote high-quality development. The group also hosted events such as the Fifth World-Class Port Multimodal Transport Conference, a Zhangjiakou coal customer symposium, a Shijiazhuang hazardous materials customer symposium, and a Beijing Xinfadi cold chain promotion conference, fostering a mutually beneficial and win-win landscape.
Tianjin Port Group has leveraged the efficiency of "sea-rail intermodal transport" to open multiple railway lines directly connecting bulk cargo to inland areas, and has implemented the first "TIR (International Road Transport Convention) + Cold Chain" imported frozen goods transaction at Tianjin Port. Currently, volumes in bulk cargo, general cargo, and automobile agency services have all seen significant growth. The official stated that the group will further target areas such as ship repair and construction, and green and intelligent retrofitting of new energy vessels, to "attract" port-related industries, contributing to the advanced manufacturing cluster near the port, while continuously tapping into production and operational potential, expanding specialty industries, and accelerating the green and intelligent transformation and upgrade.
