en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sinar Mas Land, through its Digital Hub, has officially launched the mBrace (Make BSD Research AI Center of Excellence) platform, aiming to build an artificial intelligence (AI) collaborative ecosystem in BSD City. The platform was unveiled on July 15, 2026, at the BSD City Marketing Office under the theme "How AI is Changing Our Lives," with the goal of bringing together industry players, academia, technology providers, and government agencies to drive innovation, research, talent development, and solution implementation in Indonesia's AI sector.

Attendees at the launch event included Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystems at the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs; Andri Tjioe, President Director of PT ASIX Indonesia Cerdas; Anthony Amni, Country Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Indonesia; Dinda Hervi, Business Director of UD Impact Indonesia; Dr. Yessy Peranginangin, Vice President of Education at Monash University Indonesia; and Irawan Harahap, CEO of Digital Technology Ecosystem and Development at Sinar Mas Land.
The launch of mBrace is driven by the rapid growth of AI technology adoption in Indonesia. According to the e-Conomy SEA 2025 report jointly published by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, approximately 80% of Indonesian internet users already use AI technology in their daily activities. The report also notes that revenue from AI application development companies in Indonesia has grown by 127%, making the country one of the fastest-growing markets for AI-based digital businesses in Southeast Asia.
According to Irawan Harahap, mBrace is positioned as a cross-industry collaboration platform, with the core goal of accelerating AI innovation and strengthening human resource readiness for digital transformation. The platform's tagline is "The future belongs to those who embrace it," and BSD City is being developed as a convergence point for the AI community to create innovations that deliver tangible impact on industries and society.
In its initial phase, mBrace focuses on four main pillars. The first pillar is Innovation & R&D, supporting the research and development of AI technologies. The second pillar is AI Technology Showcase, serving as a demonstration space for various AI solutions. The third pillar is AI Knowledge Development, enhancing AI capabilities and literacy through educational programs. The fourth pillar is AI Business Matching, aimed at facilitating AI-based business collaborations among technology companies, investors, startups, and industry players.
To strengthen ecosystem development, the Digital Hub has partnered with several strategic collaborators. PT ASIX Indonesia Cerdas will play a role in AI research and development, deploying technology demonstrations including humanoid robots, K9 robots, and drones. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Indonesia will enhance talent development through cloud computing and generative AI training. UD Impact from South Korea will contribute to developing AI-based entrepreneurship curricula, covering practical education and technology implementation. Monash University Indonesia will provide support in research, higher education development, and digital talent cultivation, laying the foundation for the AI Center of Excellence.
The development of mBrace leverages the existing digital infrastructure in BSD City, which already features high-capacity fiber optic networks, Internet of Things (IoT) technology, digital-based security systems, and data-driven urban services. Covering approximately 6,000 hectares, BSD City is positioned as a one-stop smart digital city, integrating residential, commercial, educational, technology industry, and lifestyle facilities.
In terms of transportation connectivity, BSD City is connected to several major highways, including the Serpong–Balaraja (Serbaraja) Toll Road, Jakarta–Serpong Toll Road, JORR 1, and JORR 2, and is linked to the Greater Jakarta area through public transportation services such as BSD Link, BSD City shuttle buses, and the KRL commuter line. With the launch of mBrace, Sinar Mas Land expands the role of BSD City's Digital Hub as a center for digital technology development in Indonesia, aiming to accelerate AI innovation, strengthen digital talent development, and drive the application of AI technology to support industrial transformation and digital economic growth.
