en.Wedoany.com Reported - At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, China's BYD subsidiary Denza officially unveiled the new Z supercar, confirming the launch of Coupe, Spider, and Racing versions, as well as a Special Edition planned to challenge the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record this fall.
The company appears to have begun early testing, with a prototype recently spotted on and around the track. The vehicle seems to be based on the Z Racing but features a more aggressive design. The Z Racing version is equipped with a carbon fiber front lip, underbody vortex generators, and various vents, with an optional carbon fiber rear spoiler. These configurations enable the Coupe version to generate 2,337 lbs (1,060 kg) of downforce at 217 mph (350 km/h). Additionally, the rear seats can be replaced by a roll cage. The spotted prototype takes this further with an even more aggressive appearance: multiple side wings, a larger front lip, revised bodywork, a massive rear wing, a diffuser covering roughly one-third of the rear, new wheels and tires, and exposed carbon fiber body panels.
Denza previously stated that the Z Special Edition will feature a "racing-grade dual-layer composite body, including panels made entirely of carbon fiber." It is equipped with a "drag reduction system" that coordinates the front active diffuser and rear wing flaps, reducing drag by up to 40%, while generating over 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg) of downforce at 186 mph (300 km/h). The standard Z is powered by a 76 kWh blade battery, supplying a three-motor powertrain with a maximum output of 1,582 hp (1,180 kW / 1,604 PS) and peak torque of 914 lb-ft (1,240 Nm). It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 2.25 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The Z Racing version achieves 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 1.96 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
The Z Special Edition features a track-grade thermal management system, with a combined output exceeding 1,973 hp (1,471 kW / 2,000 PS) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of under 1.7 seconds. Denza stated that before attempting the record, the vehicle will undergo "additional development evaluations," with more details to be announced "in due course."
