en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vizsla Copper has released the final assay results from its 2026 Phase 1 drilling program at the Thira porphyry copper discovery on the Poplar project in central British Columbia (BC), Canada. The company reported that drill hole TH26-154 intersected 472.8 meters grading 0.40% copper equivalent from a depth of 13.2 meters, testing the northern extension of previously encountered copper-molybdenum mineralization.

This interval includes a 304.8-meter section grading 0.48% copper equivalent and a higher-grade 45-meter section grading 0.58% copper equivalent. All drill holes at the Thira discovery have encountered porphyry copper-molybdenum mineralization, with drilling results outlining a mineralized footprint of approximately 800 meters by 900 meters. Subsequent drilling will examine the extension of mineralization on both sides of an inferred fault zone.
In addition to the Thira target, the company also drilled at the Camp Lake and Copper Pond targets in the same area. Seven drill holes at Camp Lake defined a mineralized zone approximately 800 meters by 400 meters; four drill holes at Copper Pond confirmed a vertical mineralized zone, with drill hole TH26-163 intersecting 177.3 meters grading 0.31% copper equivalent.
Vizsla Copper completed a total of 21 drill holes across the three targets—Thira, Camp Lake, and Copper Pond—during its Phase 1 exploration program, totaling over 11,200 meters. The company is preparing to launch its Phase 2 drilling program in late July, planning up to 8,000 meters of drilling using two rigs. The next phase will focus on potential extensions of mineralization at Thira, southern Camp Lake, and eastern Copper Pond, with geological mapping and supplementary geophysical and soil surveys currently underway to define drill targets.
Craig Parry, Executive Chairman and CEO of Vizsla Copper, stated that the second drilling program at the Poplar project has significantly deepened the understanding of the Thira target system, and the company is committed to delineating a large porphyry copper system. He believes Thira represents only part of a larger system, with other porphyry centers identified within an 8-kilometer corridor warranting further drilling. In May of this year, the company commenced drilling operations at the Woodjam project in central BC.
