China's first cross-border sea-rail-road "single document" train departs today

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On the morning of July 21, the X80442 container train, loaded with commercial vehicles and auto parts, departed from Yantai Port, marking the official launch of the country's first cross-border sea-rail-road intermodal "single document" train. The train adopts a seamless "sea + rail + road" model: cargo arrives at Yantai Port from Incheon, South Korea by sea, is then transported directly by rail to Kashgar, Xinjiang, and finally moved by customs-supervised trucks via road to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The sea-rail-road intermodal train takes approximately 12 days for the entire journey, shortening the transit time by 5 days compared to traditional transport modes. Under the "single document" model, the carrier only needs one shipping document to achieve seamless cargo transfer across different transport links, eliminating the need to handle separate procedures for each mode. The Yantai Train Operations Section of China Railway Jinan Group, through joint office operations between the railway and the port, coordinates cross-border and local cargo to ensure loading within one hour of arrival at the port and departure within three hours.

The launch of this sea-rail-road intermodal train opens a new logistics corridor for cross-border cargo from Japan and South Korea to Central Asia via inland China. With the promotion of the "single document" model for sea-rail-road intermodal transport, it is expected to further reduce cross-border logistics costs and shorten transport times in the future.
