en.Wedoany.com Reported - The collaboration between Coolbrook and ABB has entered the industrial delivery phase, with plans to deploy Coolbrook's RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) at Adani Cement's Boyareddypalli integrated cement plant in Andhra Pradesh, India. This project is described as the first industrial-scale application of the RDH system.
Under the scope of the collaboration, Coolbrook has entrusted ABB with the electrical equipment portion of the RDH project. ABB will supply drives, motors, an electrical house (e-house), and other key electrical components, integrating these devices with the ABB Ability System 800xA Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance operation.
The RDH technology is primarily used to provide clean, high-temperature thermal energy for drying materials and to enhance the calorific value of alternative fuels and waste-derived fuels during the calcination stage of cement production, thereby supporting an increased share of sustainable fuels in the energy mix. This deployment is expected to reduce direct carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 60,000 tons annually, with potential for further reductions.
The two companies view this project as part of the electrification of high-temperature industrial processes. Coolbrook emphasizes its scalability in industrial decarbonization, while ABB focuses on its role in providing electrification systems and controls that meet industry requirements for performance, safety, and reliability.
