en.Wedoany.com Reported - German industrial and technology group Bosch has established a new division, Bosch Business Innovations, planning to invest approximately 200 million euros over five years, specifically to incubate startups in strategic industrial and technology fields.

This new division adopts a corporate incubator model, combining Bosch's technical expertise and industrialization know-how with the agility and flexibility of the startup ecosystem. It is dedicated to developing new business ideas beyond the company's existing business scope and systematically advancing them to market readiness.

Its initial focus areas cover three aspects: software-controlled manufacturing, remote health monitoring, and the capture, utilization, and storage of greenhouse gases. Over the next four years, it will gradually expand its business areas, with a plan to successfully operate 20 startups by 2030.

"We want to systematically cultivate new ideas beyond our existing core business. Leveraging Bosch's technical accumulation and patent innovation capabilities, we combine the structural advantages of a large company with the speed and flexibility of the startup world," said Axel Deniz, CEO of Bosch Business Innovations.

To accelerate the incubation pace, Bosch Business Innovations will collaborate with professional venture studios, which will assist in establishing companies from scratch and advancing them to market maturity. This model aims to integrate Bosch's technical knowledge, patent portfolio, and large-scale industrialization capabilities with partners' experience in creating and developing startups.

The division's operational strategy also includes introducing external entrepreneurs at an early stage, allowing them to take on responsibilities and deeply participate in company building from project initiation. Early involvement of external investors is also planned to secure supplementary capital and open new market channels.

In the field of remote health monitoring, Bosch observes that the market, while growing rapidly, remains fragmented. The company plans to leverage its health ecosystem—including the Robert Bosch Hospital and partnerships with multiple hospitals—and its technical expertise in MEMS sensor development, which are core components for such applications.

In the direction of software-controlled manufacturing, Bosch aims to utilize its accumulated experience in the industrial sector, along with its data, software, and artificial intelligence capabilities, to build business models based on industrial operations software platforms.

Carbon capture, utilization, and storage are listed as the third priority area. Bosch is exploring how to transform industrial decarbonization and atmospheric carbon capture into economically viable business pathways.

Bosch Business Innovations was transformed from the former wholly-owned Bosch subsidiary grow platform GmbH, which previously focused on internal startup incubation. The investment portfolio has now been restructured, with the goal of creating sustainable new growth prospects for the teams and businesses incubated by this division, both within and outside the Bosch Group.
