en.Wedoany.com Reported - SDIC Power Holdings Co., Ltd. held the 13th meeting of the 13th Board of Directors on July 20, approving the proposal to invest in the construction of the Yagen IIHydropower Station. This hydropower station is located on the main stream of the Yalong River in Yajiang County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the third cascade of the "one reservoir, seven cascades" hydropower development plan in the middle reaches of the Yalong River, with a total installed capacity of 2.4 million kW, equipped with four vertical Francis turbine generator units, each with a capacity of 600,000 kW, and an expected annual power generation of approximately 8.645 billion kWh.

The total dynamic investment for the Yagen II Hydropower Station is 33.394 billion yuan, of which 6.679 billion yuan is capital, accounting for 20% of the total investment. The project will be invested in and constructed by Yalong River Yagen Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by SDIC Power's subsidiary, Yalong River Basin Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., and CATL. The equity structure of Yalong River Hydropower is SDIC Power holding 52% and Chuantou Energy holding 48%; the equity structure of Yagen Company is Yalong River Hydropower holding 90% and CATL holding 10%. After penetration, the shareholding ratios of SDIC Power, Chuantou Energy, and CATL are 46.8%, 43.2%, and 10%, respectively. The total construction period is 101 months, with the first unit expected to be commissioned in 2035 and full completion by 2036.
Upon completion, the Yagen II Hydropower Station will save 2.535 million tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 4.51 million tons, further optimizing the power source structure of the Sichuan power system and unlocking the joint dispatch potential of the Lianghekou Hydropower Station. This investment is still subject to approval from the National Development and Reform Commission.
