en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fibre Net, a specialized company under the Kerakoll Group focused on structural restoration and reinforcement in the construction sector with 25 years of industry experience, has recently acquired a new production area near Udine, Italy, to advance its internationalization strategy. The company plans to develop this site into the Group's European center of excellence for structural reinforcement.

The new plot, covering over 22,000 square meters, connects to the existing industrial area in Udine, expanding Fibre Net's total footprint to 78,300 square meters. This investment aims to create an integrated hub that consolidates advanced production, R&D laboratories, and technical training activities in one location, with the goal of positioning Udine as a technological, production, and cultural center for structural restoration and reinforcement. This sector is growing rapidly due to increasing demand for the protection, renovation, and reinforcement of buildings and infrastructure. Data shows that in Italy alone, nearly 68% of construction investments by 2026 will be directed toward the restoration and renovation of existing buildings, with special maintenance investments estimated at €161.5 billion.

Following the announcement of its collaboration with Kerakoll, Fibre Net also appointed Lorenzo Melegari as its new CEO, tasked with leading the Group's industrial plan and driving the integration of Fibre Net's technical capabilities with Kerakoll's industrial strength and global reach. Melegari, aged 37, joined Kerakoll in 2020 as the corporate product manager for the building business unit. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management, along with international work experience.

Andrea Zampa, founder of the Fibre Net Group and director of R&D, Technical Office, and Operations, stated that this investment reinforces a clear strategic choice: to make Udine a benchmark for structural reinforcement of existing buildings in Europe by developing and manufacturing highly innovative products and systems. The center of excellence will integrate production, research, experimentation, and training activities, continuing the growth trajectory of the past 25 years and leveraging collaborations with domestic and international universities and research centers. This evolution will help expand production capacity, strengthen laboratories, and develop new facilities in line with Industry 5.0 principles, focusing on innovation and sustainability. The new campus will also attract high-value talent, positively impact employment, and help cultivate an excellent industrial and technological ecosystem in the region.

Lorenzo Melegari noted that this expansion comes at a critical time in Fibre Net's history. The Group will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026 and initiate its partnership with Kerakoll. This collaboration, based on a shared vision, strong complementarity, and clear international growth ambitions, outlines a gradual integration between the two companies over the medium to long term. The Udine center of excellence will become a key location for building relationships with employees and customers, focusing on competence and innovation, while enhancing industrial strength across all markets and channels.
