en.Wedoany.com Reported - Renewable energy developer Yanara has secured €150 million (approximately $171.4 million) in investment from Mirova, a company under Natixis Investment Managers, to support its utility-scale renewable energy portfolio in Australia.

The funding is intended to expand over 2GW of renewable energy infrastructure across Victoria, New South Wales (NSW), and Western Australia (WA). The transaction will allocate the majority of the funds to Yanara's Mortlake Energy Hub in Victoria. The project adopts a hybrid approach, combining 450MW of solar capacity and 600MW/2,400MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) across two construction phases. The facility will generate enough electricity to power approximately 200,000 homes and is expected to avoid 880,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The company is preparing to commence the first phase of construction, which is projected to create over 300 jobs and bring anticipated economic benefits to the local community.

Yanara CEO Jerome Ortiz stated that this investment marks another decisive milestone in Yanara's growth journey. Mirova is one of the most respected sustainable investors in the world, and the company is proud to welcome them as a partner in Australia. Both parties share a common vision of accelerating the energy transition by delivering high-quality infrastructure that provides long-term environmental, social, and economic value, jointly helping Australia build the next generation of reliable, dispatchable renewable energy solutions.

Yanara is developing over 5.1GW of hybrid and dispatchable renewable energy projects in Australia, India, and the Philippines, encompassing solar, wind, and battery storage. The funding from Mirova marks the company's first financing in Australia and will be used to support and implement its Australian project pipeline.

Raphael Lance, Global Head of Private Assets at Mirova, stated that Australia is one of the most attractive markets for the global energy transition, benefiting from its strong renewable resources, the retirement of coal-fired power plants, growing electrification demand, and an increasing need for stable, dispatchable clean electricity. The investment in Yanara reflects Mirova's long-term commitment to supporting the development of critical energy infrastructure that can accelerate Australia's transition to a more resilient and low-carbon energy system.

Ernst & Young (EY) served as financial advisor to Yanara on this transaction, while Lazard Australia acted as advisor to Mirova. Legal counsel for the parties included Ashurst, White & Case, Van Doorne, and Loyens & Loeff. Alvarez and Marsal provided tax advice, while Infravue served as technical advisor to Mirova.
