The newly added Eco function can reduce compressed air consumption by 20% to 40%; simultaneously, the CTED communication module supports flexible switching between multiple industrial Ethernet protocols.
The VTUX is a modular valve terminal product from Festo that can be directly mounted on the end of a robot arm, integrating vacuum, pressure control, and sensor feedback functions to support end effectors for gripping and handling workpieces. The upgraded Eco function achieves on-demand compressed air supply by adjusting actuator pressure based on actual load. Festo stated that this improvement will reduce compressed air consumption by 20% to 40%, helping to lower factory energy costs and carbon emissions.
In terms of communication integration, Festo also launched the CTED communication module, enabling the VTUX to flexibly connect to mainstream industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, CC-Link, and Modbus TCP without hardware replacement. This plug-and-play design reduces device integration complexity and downtime, helping to improve production line flexibility and scalability.
