en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian telecom operator Claro reported consolidated net revenue of 13.48 billion reais in the second quarter of 2026, up 5.1% from 12.83 billion reais in the same period last year; consolidated net profit fell 8.3% year-on-year, from 1.10 billion reais to 1.01 billion reais. The quarterly financial data was submitted to the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) and released by the company in its earnings report on Tuesday (21st).

From April to June, the company's EBITDA reached 6.05 billion reais, up 4.6% year-on-year; the EBITDA margin was 44.9%, compared to 45.1% in the same period of 2025. EBIT was 2.87 billion reais, up 8.6% year-on-year, with a margin of 21.3%.

In the first half of 2026, cumulative net revenue reached 26.81 billion reais, up 5.8% year-on-year; total EBITDA was 12.02 billion reais, up 5.2%; consolidated net profit rose 1.7% to 2.49 billion reais.

Mobile service revenue grew in the second quarter. Total mobile service revenue was 7.45 billion reais, up 5.8% year-on-year. Claro attributed this performance to growth in the postpaid subscriber base, number portability operations, and a 1.9% increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).

As of the end of June, the operator had 92.3 million mobile customers, of which 61.2 million were postpaid users, up 8.7% over 12 months, with a net addition of 4.9 million lines. Postpaid users accounted for 66.3% of the mobile subscriber base, up 2.7 percentage points year-on-year. At the end of the quarter, prepaid users totaled 31.1 million lines. The company recorded a net positive number portability inflow of 985,000 lines in the 12 months through June. Based on data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Claro had 23.8 million 5G customers in May, holding a 36% share of that market.

In fixed services and other revenue, second-quarter revenue was 5.35 billion reais, up 4% from the same period in 2025. The operator added approximately 83,300 net fixed broadband subscribers from April to June. In May, the company's fixed broadband market share was 19.5%; among plans with speeds of 500 Mbps or higher, its share was 22.2%.

In the pay-TV segment, considering all technologies, Claro's share reached 57.6%. The customer base for converged residential and mobile services grew 15% year-on-year, though the company did not disclose absolute subscriber numbers. Revenue in the enterprise business segment grew year-on-year, with expansion in mobile solutions, cloud, omnichannel services, security, IoT, Wi-Fi, internet, and software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN), but the document did not provide specific amounts or growth rates.

In the first half of the year, total investments in fixed assets and intangible assets reached 4.18 billion reais, up 2.6% from 4.08 billion reais in the first six months of 2025. As of the end of June, the company held cash and cash equivalents of 240.4 million reais, down from 1.36 billion reais at the end of 2025.
