en.Wedoany.com Reported - Renault Group has officially produced its one-millionth electric vehicle in France, marking a milestone in the company's industrial investments and low-emission mobility achievements since it began its electrification transition in 2010.

Since 2010, Renault has entered the electrification track with models such as the ZOE and Kangoo Z.E. The product line has since expanded to include light commercial vehicles, such as the Kangoo E-Tech Electric, Trafic Van E-Tech Electric, and Master E-Tech Electric, which are assembled at multiple factories in France.

Renault Group CEO François Provost stated that this milestone is the result of the joint efforts of employees, suppliers, and customers. He noted that since 2021, the company has invested 13 billion euros to build an electric mobility value chain in France. Provost added that if conditions remain favorable, the company plans to invest an additional 13 billion euros in line with its medium-term strategic plan, "futuREady."

The transition also involves upgrading talent capabilities. Through Reknow University, Renault has trained over 53,000 employees in areas such as electrification, batteries, artificial intelligence, and the circular economy.

Another key development is the integration of the Electricity industrial center, which connects factories in Douai and Maubeuge. Within this complex, the company produced 600,000 electric vehicles in just five years, solidifying its position as one of Europe's leading electric vehicle technology hubs.

The vehicle that reached the one-million milestone is the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, representing the new generation of electric models. The factory also produces the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric, as well as vehicles for Alpine, Nissan, and Mitsubishi, and plans to supply Ford.

Production growth has driven employment. Between 2022 and 2025, the complex added 700 permanent positions and plans to hire an additional 300 workers by 2027. Additionally, approximately 35,000 indirect jobs are supported by the supplier network serving these operations.

Renault stated that producing electric vehicles in France helps strengthen local industry, accelerate innovation, and enhance competitiveness relative to new international manufacturers.
