en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brenntag and BASF have signed a new distribution agreement aimed at expanding access to innovative cleaning solutions in key markets across sub-Saharan Africa.
This partnership will enhance the supply of advanced ingredients for home care and industrial & institutional (I&I) cleaning applications. Under the agreement, Brenntag will distribute BASF's home care and I&I cleaning portfolio in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia—regions considered fast-growing markets in sub-Saharan Africa.
The agreement covers BASF's extensive range of cleaning application solutions, including advanced surfactant systems. These systems help remove grease, dirt, and other common soils, thereby improving cleaning performance while supporting formulation stability and sustainability goals. Brenntag's expertise in home care and I&I, combined with its broad market coverage and supply chain capabilities, will help deliver BASF's portfolio to a wider customer base in the region.
Both companies stated that the collaboration will also support evolving hygiene and sustainability needs through solutions designed for laundry care applications. These solutions include ingredients that enable stain removal, fabric protection, and color retention at lower washing temperatures, helping customers improve cleaning efficiency and reduce energy consumption. The partnership aims to create new opportunities for customers in sub-Saharan Africa seeking reliable, high-performance, and scalable cleaning solutions.
Kreason Gopalan, Regional Commercial Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at Brenntag's Specialty Chemicals Beauty & Care division, said the company is proud to partner with BASF to deliver high-performance, innovative cleaning solutions in the region. He noted that BASF's advanced portfolio enables customers to develop high-performance home and industrial cleaning formulations while meeting growing sustainability expectations, and that this collaboration strengthens the company's commitment to bringing effective, reliable, and future-oriented solutions to the market.
Marton Nick, Regional Sales Manager for Home Care and I&I Cleaning in Central Europe-Africa-Middle East at BASF, pointed out that sub-Saharan Africa is an important growth region for the home care and I&I industries. Through the partnership with Brenntag, the company is expanding customer access to BASF's innovative solutions while strengthening local support and technical expertise in key markets across the region.
