The company plans to achieve its first commercial sales by 2027. Empower EIT utilizes proprietary direct lithium extraction (DLE) and conversion technologies to process extracted lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium carbonate.

In a recent processing run, the company processed five batches of eluate, each representing approximately 40,000 gallons of brine, ultimately producing battery-grade lithium carbonate. This operation further validated the technical capabilities previously demonstrated in trials using multiple domestic brine resources. The finished products from all five batches were sent to an independent third party for testing, which showed that Empower EIT consistently produces battery-grade lithium carbonate with purities ranging from 99.68% to 99.91%.
Meanwhile, Empower EIT has expanded its executive leadership team by appointing Jim Chaney, who has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, as a senior advisor. Chaney previously served at Hunt Oil.
Patrick Dowling, CEO of Empower EIT, stated that the full commissioning of the center and the addition of Jim Chaney are two key milestones in the company's commercialization process. The company is currently focused on asset acquisition, evaluation and testing of domestic mineral resources, strategic capital partnerships, and establishing offtake relationships, and is confident in achieving its first commercial sales by 2027.
As commercialization progresses, Chaney will play a key role in formulating the company's reservoir strategy, conducting technical due diligence, and integrating expertise related to its expanding energy and lithium operations.
Jim Chaney noted that Empower EIT, with its differentiated technology, experienced management team, and clear commercialization roadmap, is well-positioned to become a fully domestic, vertically integrated lithium platform. He chose to join Empower EIT after retiring from Hunt Oil, believing the company is at a critical stage of development.
Third-party test results validated Empower EIT's proprietary direct lithium extraction and conversion technologies, demonstrating its capability to execute the complete lithium processing value chain from field operations to finished product delivery. In addition to fully processing brine into battery-grade lithium carbonate through direct lithium extraction technology, the Operations and Innovation Center is also equipped with an environmental laboratory that can support resource owners in brine testing, resource validation, and the design of lithium recovery systems from laboratory to field-deployable systems.
