en.Wedoany.com Reported - Eucatex S.A., one of Brazil's largest industrial manufacturers, has chosen RELEX Solutions to optimize supply chain planning for its building materials business. The company will deploy RELEX's demand planning, inventory planning, and distribution planning capabilities, with implementation led by the São Paulo-based consulting firm Sintec Consulting.
Founded in 1951 and publicly traded on B3 (ticker symbols EUCA3/EUCA4), Eucatex operates seven manufacturing plants in Brazil and exports products to over 40 countries across Latin America, North America, and Europe. Its building materials business includes paints, laminate flooring, doors, and partitions.
As the business grew, managing inventory across an expanding product portfolio became increasingly complex. By the end of 2025, inventory levels were placing growing pressure on working capital. Planning relied on spreadsheet-based processes with limited integration among commercial, supply chain, and logistics teams, making it difficult to maintain a consistent view of inventory across more than 1,300 SKUs.
RELEX will help Eucatex transition to a unified planning approach, starting with AI-driven demand, distribution, and inventory planning. This planning generates forecasts at the SKU, channel, and distribution center level up to 18 months in advance.
These forecasts feed directly into inventory optimization, where safety stock and replenishment parameters are dynamically recalibrated by SKU and location. Distribution planning converts these signals into coordinated transfer orders across Eucatex's network, aligned with logistics constraints and service level targets. This will help reduce emergency shipments and improve product availability.
By aligning commercial, supply chain, and logistics teams around a shared demand view, the company aims to make planning decisions more consistent and visible, reduce stockouts, improve planning efficiency, and support inventory management.
José Antônio Goulart de Carvalho, Executive Vice President and DRI at Eucatex, stated that the project's goal goes far beyond deploying new technology—it is about building planning capabilities that give the leadership team clear visibility and control over the supply chain. RELEX provides the foundation to more actively manage working capital, improve customer availability, and support sustained growth.
Martín Saludas, Vice President of Manufacturing for Latin America at RELEX Solutions, noted that Eucatex has established one of Brazil's most respected sustainability programs, from managing 48,000 hectares of forest to powering its plants with 50% renewable energy. Better planning helps reduce excess inventory, avoid unnecessary transportation, and use resources more efficiently, with a focus on improving the supply chain's day-to-day performance.
