Kyivstar Rebuilds Ukraine Infrastructure With 800+ 4G Towers

Wedoany.com Report-May 23, In the first quarter of 2025, Kyivstar, a leading Ukrainian telecommunications provider, constructed 828 new base stations and extended 4G coverage to 139 additional settlements across Ukraine. The company’s network enhancements are critical for maintaining connectivity, supporting economic activities, and facilitating communication for government and citizens during challenging times. Kyivstar has prioritized modernizing and expanding its infrastructure to strengthen Ukraine’s digital framework.

By May 2025, Kyivstar’s high-speed 4G internet and reliable mobile services reached 95.9% of the population in areas under Ukrainian control. Since 2022, the company has upgraded over 22,000 existing base stations and built more than 9,000 new ones, with capital investments in network development surpassing UAH 26.4 billion. Kyivstar plans to continue expanding 4G coverage to meet license obligations for new spectrum in the 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands, acquired in a November 2024 auction.

This year, 4G connectivity was introduced in numerous settlements, including 12 in the Mykolaiv region, seven in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and six in the Volyn region. Additionally, Kyivstar established 94 new technological sites along major highways, such as the Kyiv-Lviv route near Olesko village and the Kyiv-Odesa route near Dubinove village, on the border of Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions. These efforts have enabled high-quality 4G coverage across nearly 13,000 km of key international and national roads by May 2025.
