en.Wedoany.com Reported - The U.S. battery storage market is rapidly expanding, with Bimergen Energy Corp. (BESS:NYSE) advancing its Wildfire BESS project in Texas and transitioning it to the Frontier Power USA platform. As a project developer, the company focuses on advancing feasibility studies, site control, interconnection, and permitting in the early stages before transferring projects to partners. The conversion of the Wildfire project follows a previous 480 MWh ERCOT portfolio conversion, demonstrating its execution capabilities under the existing strategic framework with Frontier Power USA.

Texas holds a prominent position in the U.S. energy storage market due to its ERCOT electricity market and demand for flexible resources. Bimergen Energy operates under a light-asset model, managing development risks and collaborating with established enterprises to complete financing, manufacturing, and construction phases. A typical 100 MW project requires approximately $125 million in capital expenditure and is expected to provide an EBITDA margin of around 50% after signing. Bimergen retains a 7.5% economic interest in transferred projects, with partners such as Frontier Power USA providing construction equity funding.

The Wildfire BESS project, located in Caldwell County, Texas, is a 100 MW/400 MWh facility expected to utilize Eos Energy Enterprises' Z3 long-duration batteries. The closing of this project is subject to the execution of final documentation and the successful completion of Eos' rights offering. Together with closed and selected projects, Bimergen's current portfolio totals approximately 1.8 GWh, while Frontier Power USA has a 2 GWh capacity reservation agreement with Eos.

Bimergen's broader pipeline encompasses 23 projects across the ERCOT, WECC, PJM, and MISO markets, with a total capacity of 2.0 GW. Recent milestones include selecting SMA as the inverter supplier, awarding the EPC contract to TruGrid, and acquiring eight late-stage projects totaling 79.2 MW.

According to the second-quarter energy storage market outlook released on May 21 by the Solar Energy Industries Association and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, utility-scale installations reached 7.8 GWh in the first quarter, driving strong growth in regions such as Texas. On July 20, Global Market Insights reported that the global utility-scale sodium-ion energy storage system market was valued at $113.2 million in 2025. A report by Research and Markets on the same day indicated that the flywheel energy storage system market is expected to reach $519.33 million in 2026.

In terms of power supply and financing, Frontier Power USA's equity base includes commitments from Cerberus Capital Management funds and a planned $50 million direct equity commitment from Hudson Bay Capital, as part of a $125 million package. KKR Capital Markets provides support for long-term project financing.
