Rosatom's 300 MW Wind Farm Commissioned in Dagestan
en.Wedoany.com Reported - JSC Rusatom Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Rosatom, has achieved full commissioning of the Novolakskaya Wind Farm in the Republic of Dagestan, with a total installed capacity of 300 MW. When operating at full load, the plant can meet approximately 17% of the region's electricity demand, with total construction investments exceeding 50 billion rubles.

The project was built in two phases over a total construction period of three years. The first phase, with 152.5 MW of capacity, was commissioned in December 2025, and the second phase, with 147.5 MW, was commissioned on July 22. The plant is equipped with 120 wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 2.5 MW, and each tower reaches a height of 96 meters.
Grigory Nazarov, General Director of JSC Rusatom Renewable Energy, stated that the Novolakskaya Wind Farm is the tenth wind power project launched by the company, but ranks first in terms of installed capacity, construction speed, and localization level. To date, Rosatom has built 1.3 GW of wind power capacity in Russia, with plans to increase total installed capacity to 2 GW by the end of 2028.
Feodor Shchukin, Acting Head of the Dagestan region, noted that the commissioning of this plant is of great significance to Dagestan's energy system. The region has long faced a severe electricity shortage, and the new wind farm will help strengthen energy security, stabilize voltage levels, create jobs, and generate additional tax revenue for the local budget.
