en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has mapped sediment deposits up to 50 meters thick at the Blue Lagoon rare earth project in Greenland using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and bathymetric surveys.
The company completed 21 GPR lines across five priority shoreline areas and 10 single-beam echo sounder lines over the lagoon to investigate the geometry and depth of the sedimentary system.
Survey results revealed extensive unconsolidated sediments along the shoreline, with the greatest sediment thickness in Zones A, B, and C, where interpreted bedrock depths range from approximately 2 meters to 50 meters below the surface.
Some areas reached the effective penetration limit of the GPR equipment, which Dalaroo believes indicates that sediments may be deeper than the current survey can detect.
Sediment accumulation in Zones D and E was relatively moderate, with interpreted bedrock typically ranging from 1 meter to 30 meters below the surface in Zone D, while sediment thickness in Zone E reached approximately 10 meters.
The survey also identified several previously undiscovered sediment-filled valleys beyond the existing exploration scope, which the company interprets as potential transport pathways connecting the surrounding rare-earth-rich alkaline granites to the shoreline sedimentary areas.
Chief Executive Officer John Morgan stated that this work builds on the extensive rare earth mineralization identified within shoreline sediments during the company's 2025 exploration program, and the latest work indicates that these sedimentary environments are far thicker than initially understood, with sediment accumulation extending to approximately 50 meters in multiple priority zones.
The Blue Lagoon is located within the Helen Alkaline Granite, which forms the westernmost outcrop of the Nunarsuit Complex in southern Greenland.
Dalaroo plans to integrate the geophysical results with geological mapping and assay data to develop a three-dimensional model of the project, and intends to conduct mineralogical and metallurgical studies during the 2027 exploration season, while also evaluating the newly mapped valleys. Dalaroo Metals is an Australian exploration company focused on gold and rare earth assets in Côte d'Ivoire and Greenland.
