DEEPAL S09 SUV Hits Market, Powered by Huawei’s Cockpit OS, ADAS

Wedoany.com Report-May 26, On May 22, 2025, DEEPAL, a new energy vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, launched the DEEPAL S09, a large SUV designed as a smart, family-oriented flagship, in China. Available in five variants, the S09 is priced between 239,900 yuan and 309,900 yuan, with post-subsidy prices ranging from 204,900 yuan to 274,900 yuan. Built on the Super Range Extender 2.0 platform, it features the HarmonySpace 5 intelligent cockpit and Huawei’s Qiankun advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS).

The S09’s exterior showcases a modern design with a semi-closed grille, a 1,836mm star-ring petal headlamp, and a full-width LED daytime running light strip. A trapezoidal lower intake and air duct-style headlamp modules enhance its aesthetic. The SUV, measuring 5,205mm long, 1,996mm wide, and 1,800mm high with a 3,105mm wheelbase, features a sharp shoulder line, flush door handles, electric side steps, and sculpted side skirts. The rear includes a through-type taillight strip and silver chrome trim for a refined look.

Inside, the S09 offers a tech-focused cabin with a 43-inch head-up display, a multifunction steering wheel, and an electronic shifter. The HarmonySpace 5 system includes dual 15.6-inch 2.5K front screens and a 21.4-inch 3K rear entertainment screen. A smart mobile island with a temperature-adjustable refrigerator (-6°C to 50°C) adds convenience. The 6-seat (2+2+2) layout provides ventilated, heated, and 8-point massage seats for front and rear passengers, with a 427L trunk capable of holding seven 20-inch suitcases.

The S09’s range-extender system combines a 1.5T engine (110 kW) with electric motors. The single-motor version delivers 231 kW, while the dual-motor AWD configuration offers 131 kW (front) and 231 kW (rear). A 40.18kWh battery provides a CLTC range of 220 km (2WD) or 210 km (AWD). Huawei’s Qiankun ADAS supports adaptive cruise, highway navigation, and urban lane assistance, with top trims featuring 192-line LiDAR and optional advanced autonomous driving. DEEPAL plans to upgrade to HUAWEI ADS 4 in late 2025.
