en.Wedoany.com Reported - A 100MW/400MWh grid-side independent energy storage station, built by Weiheng Yunchu, has been completed in the Liangzhou Industrial Park, Wuwei City, Gansu Province. This large-scale energy storage facility provides peak shaving and frequency regulation support to the Gansu power grid by participating in the power auxiliary service market, aiming to address bottlenecks in new energy integration and enhance the new power system.

At the project site, rows of white battery storage containers are neatly arranged, with staff moving between equipment units to check operating parameters and conduct commissioning. Operations, maintenance, and joint debugging efforts are progressing in an orderly manner.

Liu Qiqing, the EPC project manager, stated that this project is a key supporting initiative for Liangzhou District to implement the "dual carbon" goals, improve the new power system, and expand the new energy industry. Since construction began, the developer has strictly adhered to high-quality construction standards, scientifically coordinated the timeline, refined construction milestones, and systematically advanced tasks including civil engineering, energy storage unit hoisting, electrical equipment installation and commissioning, substation construction, and system joint debugging. Currently, all main works have been completed, along with various tests and pre-grid-connection defect rectification. The 110kV substation and transmission lines have been successfully put into operation, and the joint commissioning of the energy storage area's power supply is progressing smoothly.

The first phase of the station includes one independent energy storage facility covering an area of 57.12 mu (approximately 3.81 hectares), with a total investment of 750 million yuan. Supporting facilities include a comprehensive office building, a 110kV substation, battery containers, PCS containers, and high- and low-voltage switchgear. Once the 100MW/400MWh energy storage facility is operational, it will coordinate with local wind and photovoltaic stations to fundamentally resolve challenges in new energy integration.

Liangzhou District provided a green channel for the project's implementation, handling all approval procedures, shortening the project timeline, and assisting the company in overcoming issues such as land acquisition coordination and construction support, removing obstacles to development. Li Jianchao, Deputy General Manager of Wuwei Weiheng Yunchu Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the successful completion of the project is a significant practical achievement in driving green transformation and cultivating new productive forces. Once operational, it will further strengthen the local wind-solar-storage integrated industrial system, reinforce the new energy industry chain, effectively boost fixed asset investment, create employment opportunities, and continuously generate green economic, ecological, and social benefits, strongly promoting the high-quality development of Liangzhou District's energy industry.
