China Resources Group Appoints New Chairman

en.Wedoany.com Reported - China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. held a meeting for middle-level and above managers on July 23, 2026, where a relevant official from the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China announced the Party Central Committee's decision on the adjustment of the company's chairman: Comrade Wang Haimin has been appointed as the chairman of China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd., and his position as chairman of China Travel Service (Holdings) Hong Kong Ltd. has been removed; Comrade Wang Xiangming's position as chairman of China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. has been removed. The relevant appointments and removals shall be handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Wang Haimin, born in July 1972, is a native of Liaoning Province. He earned his bachelor's degree in Transportation Economics from Shanghai Maritime University (formerly Shanghai Maritime Institute) and later obtained a Master of Business Administration from Fudan University. With over 20 years of experience in shipping enterprise management, Wang Haimin has deep expertise in container shipping, terminal operations, and corporate management. His career began at China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (referred to as "COSCO Group"), where he served as Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member from February 2019, and as Director and Deputy Party Secretary from May 2020. In June 2022, Wang Haimin left COSCO Group to become Director and General Manager of China Travel Service (Holdings) Hong Kong Ltd. (i.e., China Tourism Group Corporation Limited), and was promoted to Chairman of the company in June 2024. This appointment as Chairman of China Resources Group marks another significant cross-sector career transition.

Wang Xiangming, who has stepped down, was born in 1963 and is now 63 years old. He spent most of his career at China State Construction Engineering Corporation (now China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd.), serving as Director, General Manager, and Deputy Party Secretary from May 2016. In March 2019, Wang Xiangming was transferred to China Resources Group as Director and General Manager. After Fu Yuning retired upon reaching the age limit in July 2020, Wang Xiangming officially succeeded him as Chairman of China Resources Group.

China Resources Group is a key state-owned backbone enterprise directly supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Its predecessor was "Liend Hing Co., Ltd." established in Hong Kong in 1938, which was restructured and renamed China Resources Company in 1948, and further reorganized into China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. in 1983. As of the end of 2025, China Resources Group employed approximately 392,000 people, with total assets exceeding 2.7 trillion yuan in 2024, operating revenue of 932.7 billion yuan, and total profit of 92.6 billion yuan. It ranked 67th on the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list. This chairman adjustment represents another routine personnel change for this trillion-yuan central enterprise.
