Through modernization and expansion, the company aims to shorten delivery lead times for critical grid components, enabling utilities to connect new energy-intensive demands, such as data centers, to the grid faster and more reliably.

This expansion is part of a $138 million investment in the Charleroi plant, expected to create approximately 275 new high-skilled manufacturing jobs by 2028, with plans for further hiring by 2030. New positions include wiring technicians, machinists, test technicians, logistics coordinators, and supply chain specialists. Combined with other investments, GE Vernova expects to invest $166 million in western Pennsylvania and create over 700 new high-skilled manufacturing jobs across the state.
