en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Mining Remediation Authority (MRA) is to launch a four-year procurement framework for construction, environmental, and technical professional services to support the authority's functions across the UK. The framework has an estimated total value of up to £9.4 million (excluding VAT).

This "Construction, Environmental & Technical Professional Services" (CETPS) framework, formerly known as the Engineering Services Framework, is expected to run from 21 June 2027 to 20 June 2031.

The framework is planned to include four lots covering mine water treatment schemes and civil and structural engineering, ecology and environmental services, treatability services, and consultancy, planning, and delivery oversight. According to the contract notice, the framework will support the MRA's core purpose of "protecting and improving the environment, fulfilling organisational commitments, and creating a better future for former mining communities," and will play a key role in reducing risks related to environmental impact.

Lot 1, "Mine Water Treatment Schemes and Civil & Structural Engineering," has an estimated value of £6 million and covers scoping, feasibility, and design services to deepen technical understanding of mine water treatment schemes, as well as providing civil and structural engineering expertise for new and existing assets, including advice on asset performance, structural integrity, and incident response.

Lot 2, "Ecology and Environmental Services," has an estimated value of £1.4 million and covers ecological and environmental consultancy services required to support project assessment, design, and delivery, including ecological surveys, environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring, permitting advice, and environmental compliance support, with a sub-lot dedicated to ecology and environmental monitoring services.

Lot 3 has an estimated value of £0.9 million and provides treatability services, including consultancy, option selection, and comparative studies for mine water treatment schemes, with sub-lots covering passive and active treatment solutions.

Lot 4, "Consultancy, Planning, and Delivery Oversight," has an estimated value of £1.1 million and covers planning strategy and planning applications, economic appraisal and cost-benefit analysis, NEC project manager and supervisor duties, as well as cost consultancy and commercial advisory services.

The framework is open exclusively to the Mining Remediation Authority, allows an unlimited number of suppliers to be shortlisted, and is recognised as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The MRA states that the estimated framework value is based on forecast demand and represents the maximum anticipated expenditure over the framework period.

The MRA expects to publish the contract notice on 24 August, with a tender submission deadline of 16 October. The contract award decision is expected on 8 February 2027, ahead of the framework's planned start date of 21 June 2027.
