en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 28, the Guanmianshan Tunnel on the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway (Xi-Yu High-Speed Railway) was successfully completed, with a construction period spanning 1,214 days. Located in Kaizhou District, Chongqing, China, the tunnel has a total length of 12,857 meters. It was designed by China Railway Eryuan and constructed by China Railway Seventh Group, both subsidiaries of China Railway. The tunnel traverses complex geological conditions and carries a construction risk rating of Level II.

During construction, the project team organized tunnel excavation in accordance with the principles of "advance support, strict grouting, short excavation, strong reinforcement, early closure, and frequent monitoring," and routinely applied intelligent detection methods such as advanced geological forecasting to dynamically optimize construction plans and precisely mitigate geological risks. Mechanized operations were simultaneously promoted on site; with the deployment of equipment such as double-boom rock drilling rigs, the monthly excavation rate in Grade IV surrounding rock reached 140 meters.

The Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway is a key backbone line in the high-speed railway network of central and western China. Once completed, it will connect multiple major high-speed rail corridors, including the Chengdu-Chongqing, Zhengzhou-Wanzhou, Chongqing-Kunming, Xi'an-Yan'an, and Xi'an-Shiyan lines, further improving the network structure in central and western regions, facilitating travel for residents along the route, and providing transportation support for consolidating poverty alleviation achievements, comprehensively advancing rural revitalization, and building a new pattern for the development of western China in the new era.
