en.Wedoany.com Reported - The floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Errea Wittu, built by Japan's Modec for Guyana's Uaru project, has entered West African waters and is heading toward the Stabroek block. Vessel tracking data shows the unit is currently en route and is expected to arrive in the operating waters around August 20.

According to Marine Traffic, the FPSO has reached the aforementioned area after departing Singapore in June. Independent Automatic Identification System data released by VesselFinder gives an estimated arrival date of August 20, though the actual time may vary due to adjustments in speed, route, or operational plans.

The Uaru project targets recoverable oil reserves of over 800 million barrels, with a total investment of $12.7 billion. It plans for up to 10 drilling centers and 44 wells, with a designed production capacity of 250,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Once the project comes on stream, Guyana's daily crude output will surpass one million barrels, building on the current level of over 900,000 barrels.

Errea Wittu was built by Japanese contractor Modec for the project and will be responsible for processing and storing crude oil produced from the Uaru field once operational. The FPSO's design includes two key upgrades: a combined-cycle gas turbine system that will provide power with higher efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions, and a closed-loop flare system that will limit emissions generated during operations.
