en.Wedoany.com Reported - dsrealestate (the real estate company under the dstgroup) and Portuguese developer KKR Investiementos will jointly invest approximately €20 million to build a new university residence at the Caparica Campus of the NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT) in Portugal.

Once completed, the new residence will provide NOVA FCT with 280 beds across 254 accommodation units in a five-story building. The project aims to address student housing needs in areas under significant housing pressure, helping students improve their study and living conditions on campus.

Construction is scheduled to begin next year, with completion expected approximately one year later. Most of the work will use industrialized construction methods, carried out by ZETHAUS, a dstgroup company specializing in this building approach. The company believes this construction method is an innovative and efficient solution to contemporary housing challenges.

In a statement, the project developers said the residence is not just a new building but a concrete response to one of the main challenges facing higher education in Portugal: providing adequate accommodation for a growing student population, improving retention conditions, and enhancing NOVA FCT's attractiveness to domestic and international talent.

José Júlio Alfreres, Dean of NOVA FCT, noted that building this residence on campus represents another step forward in attracting young university students, with an impact that extends beyond alleviating issues related to housing and access to higher education, to also unlocking potential in the fields of science, engineering, and technology—areas crucial to the future development of society. He also expressed pride in this partnership, stating it will make a substantial contribution to the institution's growth and its positioning as an internationally recognized higher education institution.

Ana José Teixeira, CEO of dsrealestate, believes the project reflects the company's vision for real estate development: investing in solutions that meet real needs and create value for communities. ZETHAUS was chosen for its industrialized construction approach, which combines quality, efficiency, and sustainability to accelerate the supply of new housing; the project also demonstrates dstgroup's ability to integrate different capabilities and develop innovative solutions to housing challenges.
