Damen Receives Order for 60-Tonne Bollard Pull Tug from Greece

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 4, Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands disclosed that it has signed a supply contract with Aegean Towing Shipping Company of Greece for an ASD Tug 2811 class azimuthing stern drive tug. The contract value and actual signing date were not disclosed, and the vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027.

The tug is being built under Damen's stock-building model and was already in an advanced stage of construction at the time of signing. The delivery location is the island of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese archipelago of Greece, which also serves as the home port of Aegean Towing Shipping Company. Prior to delivery, Damen will carry out modifications to the vessel in accordance with the customer's operational requirements and Greek flag state regulations, including the installation of a FiFi 1 fire-fighting system and a towing winch.

The standard ASD Tug 2811 design has an overall length of 28.57 meters and a beam of 11.43 meters, with a forward bollard pull of 60 tonnes, an astern bollard pull of 57 tonnes, a maximum speed of 13 knots, and accommodation for up to 8 crew members. After delivery, the vessel will be used for port towing, ship assistance, and offshore support operations in Greece.
