POSCO Air Solution Secures AS9100D Certification

en.Wedoany.com Reported - POSCO Air Solution, the industrial gas subsidiary of POSCO Group, announced on August 6 that it has obtained AS9100D certification from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). AS9100D, based on ISO 9001, is an international quality management system standard for the aerospace and defense industries and is a globally recognized quality certification in this field. POSCO Air Solution stated that it is the first company in Asia to achieve this certification in the manufacturing of high-purity rare gases.

In June of this year, the company completed the construction of a high-purity rare gas production facility at the Donghoan Industrial Base within the POSCO Gwangyang Steel Works complex, with an annual production capacity of 130,000 standard cubic meters (N㎥).

POSCO Air Solution recently also participated in propulsion technology development tests conducted by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, where the performance of domestically produced xenon (Xe) and krypton (Kr) gases in electric propulsion applications was successfully verified.

The company's CEO, Kim Dae-yeon, stated that this certification will provide an opportunity to expand the supply of rare gases for the aerospace and defense sectors.
