The series combines a miniature footprint with 2 W power handling capability, suitable for both commercial and defense applications.

As RF layout density continues to increase in modern communications, aerospace, and test systems, component footprint has become a critical design constraint. The compact form factor of the XAT series attenuators helps reduce PCB area while maintaining stable electrical performance across a wide bandwidth.
The series is manufactured using gallium arsenide semiconductor technology and employs a bidirectional fully absorptive architecture, providing flat attenuation characteristics across the operating band with a typical return loss of 16 dB, delivering repeatable performance from DC to 45 GHz, which helps preserve signal integrity in high-frequency RF signal chains.
With an input power handling capability of up to 2 W, these attenuators can operate in demanding RF environments requiring compact size and reliable performance. Application scenarios cover test and measurement equipment, satellite communications, radar systems, electronic warfare and electronic countermeasure platforms, telecommunications infrastructure, and 5G networks.
Currently, Mini-Circuits offers standard stock models of the XAT series with attenuation values from 0 dB to 10 dB, ready for immediate integration into new or existing RF designs. The company plans to subsequently release models with attenuation values up to 30 dB to cover a wider range of signal conditioning requirements.
