en.Wedoany.com Reported - Siemens Energy has been awarded a contract by SBM Offshore to supply power generation and gas compression systems for two floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) at the Sergipe-Alagoas Deepwater development offshore Brazil. The two FPSOs belong to Petrobras.

The equipment will be installed on the P-81 and P-87 FPSOs, serving the SEAP I and SEAP II projects, respectively. The combined design capacity of the two platforms is up to 240,000 barrels of crude oil per day, with natural gas processing capacity of 22 million cubic meters per day (22 MMcmd).

Siemens Energy's scope of delivery includes 16 modular equipment skids, 8 per FPSO, comprising gas turbine generators for power generation, gas turbine-driven compressor trains for gas processing and export, and electric compressors for gas reinjection.

Marcela Souza, Senior Vice President of Siemens Energy for Latin America, stated that the offshore market is moving toward increasingly customized and large-scale projects, where competitive schedules and execution capabilities are just as important as the technology itself.

Most of the equipment will be assembled at Siemens Energy's manufacturing facility in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, Brazil, to meet the project's local content requirements. The first equipment package is scheduled for delivery to SBM Offshore by the end of 2027, with the remaining equipment delivered in 2028.

The Sergipe-Alagoas Deepwater development is one of Brazil's largest offshore oil and gas projects. Associated gas produced by the FPSOs will be transported via dedicated pipelines to shore to supply the domestic market, while also reducing flaring and gas reinjection. Oil production is expected to begin in 2030, with natural gas exports targeted to start in 2031.
