U.S. AMPP Signs Three-Year Cooperation Memorandum with Advanced Carbons Council

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 11, the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) announced the signing of a three-year cooperation memorandum with the Advanced Carbons Council (ACC), focusing on collaboration in standards, research, education, and technical exchange regarding advanced carbon materials and materials protection technologies. The memorandum officially took effect on July 6.

In the initial phase, both parties will focus on carbon material-enhanced protective coatings, studying the application and performance of engineered carbon materials such as graphene, graphene derivatives, and carbon nanotubes in coatings. Subsequent collaboration will include co-hosting webinars, technical conferences, and specialized training sessions, jointly publishing technical resources, exploring research projects, and promoting collaboration between their technical committees and standards development efforts.

Under the cooperation arrangement, the two parties will hold the first AMPP Forefront series webinar on September 10, themed "The Role of Advanced Carbon Materials in Coating Applications," focusing on the technical progress of using advanced carbon materials as functional additives in protective coatings.

AMPP stated that the increasing use of media such as hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and ammonia in the energy and industrial sectors has raised new requirements for material corrosion resistance and long-term service performance. This cooperation will connect carbon material developers, coating technicians, research institutions, engineers, and asset operators, facilitating the transition of advanced carbon materials from experimental research to applications in anti-corrosion coatings, infrastructure, and energy equipment.
