Ceuta Port Authority Launches Tender for 330 kW Photovoltaic Project in Spain

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 6, the Port Authority of Ceuta in Spain launched a tender for the photovoltaic project at the España Terminal passenger station and boarding walkway. The project plans a peak installed capacity of 330.225 kW, with a tender budget of €648,100 excluding tax and approximately €712,900 including tax. The bid deadline is September 2, 2026.

The project will involve the construction of two distributed photovoltaic facilities. In the passenger station area, 369 photovoltaic modules will be installed, with a peak installed capacity of 204.795 kW; in the boarding area of the España Terminal, 226 modules will be installed via photovoltaic carports, with a peak installed capacity of 125.43 kW. Together, the two facilities will feature 595 photovoltaic modules with a unit power of 555 W, and a rated AC power of 287 kW.

The photovoltaic system will operate under a self-consumption model for a single user, with no surplus power fed into the public grid. The scope of the contract includes photovoltaic modules, inverters, support structures, DC and AC electrical systems, connectors, string configurations, and the installation work required for integration with existing buildings and the port's power supply system.

For the flat roof of the passenger station, a ballasted mounting system is planned to avoid damaging the existing roofing in areas where design requirements do not permit perforation. The support system must evenly distribute loads and protect the waterproofing layer, while also meeting requirements for future expansion, rearrangement, and dismantling. The contractor must also verify compatibility between the modules and the mounting structure, fixing systems, connectors, maximum system voltage, and inverter configuration.

The 226 modules at the España Terminal will be installed on the canopy structures in the boarding area. The technical solution requires that the photovoltaic facility does not interfere with passenger boarding, circulation, or daily port operations, and should also accommodate equipment inspection and future maintenance conditions.

The project will be procured through an open procedure, with a planned contract duration of 5 months, funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Bidding companies must have capabilities in rooftop photovoltaic construction and electrical installation. The procurement categories for this tender include rooftop solar panel construction and electrical installation works.

The project is currently still in the bidding stage. The Port Authority of Ceuta will complete evaluation and award after the bid deadline, and the project implementation timeline will be subject to the final contract and commencement documents.
