The agreement has been formally signed, but at this stage it does not include purchase commitments, and no definitive equipment quantities, contract amounts, or deployment plans have been established.

According to AutoStore's securities market announcement, the agreement clarifies the basic terms for future procurement between the two parties, with coverage extending to Amazon's global operations. Specific purchases will still require separate purchase orders from Amazon. Therefore, this milestone constitutes the signing of a supply framework agreement, not an initiation of global deployment by Amazon, nor should it be viewed as a robotics procurement contract with a confirmed amount.

The AutoStore system consists of a cubic storage grid, storage bins, robots operating on top of the grid, picking stations, and control software. The robots retrieve bins stored within the grid based on order instructions and transport them to picking ports, primarily to improve warehouse space utilization and order processing efficiency. The company has currently deployed approximately 2,000 systems across 68 countries.

Alongside the agreement announcement, AutoStore disclosed that its order intake for the second quarter of 2026 amounted to $217.6 million, a year-over-year increase of 44.7%; as of the end of June, its order backlog stood at $596.1 million, up 12.6% year-over-year. Since the Amazon agreement does not yet include purchase commitments, the specific project orders, deployment locations, and equipment configurations that may subsequently materialize remain to be further determined by both parties.
