en.Wedoany.com Reported - Broken Hill Mines (ASX:BHM) has returned strong results from the second and third drill holes in its first drilling program targeting beneath the Globe-Vauxhall Shear at the Rasp mine on the Line of Lode in Broken Hill. A broad, high-grade silver, lead, and zinc intersection outside the resource boundary connects the northern and southern sections of the Centenary Zone, extending the strike length to 1,600 metres. The highest silver grade reached 173g/t, approximately 4.4 times higher than the grade of the historical Centenary Mineral Resource estimate.
Drill hole WMDD6391 intersected 17.8 metres at 10.1% zinc equivalent and 280g/t silver equivalent, with the mineralised width at this location 500% wider and the grade 27% higher than modelled in the 2024 Inferred Resource (4.8Mt at 9.2% zinc equivalent and 255g/t silver equivalent (39g/t silver, 2.4% lead, 6.0% zinc)). With Rasp mine operations focused on mining the Western Mineralisation and the original Main Lode, BHM stated that these results represent "a significant new discovery of large-tonnage, high-grade mineralisation." The company said the continued outstanding results confirm a major new discovery at the Rasp mine and drive a complete reinterpretation of the previously understood mineralisation within the Centenary Zone. This could provide potential feed for the 750ktpa operation and potentially support a plant expansion in the medium term; the mineralised body lies just 250 metres from the existing operations in the far west inland mining town of New South Wales.

Assay results from two drill holes spaced approximately 325 metres apart in BHM's Centenary drilling program include: WMDD6400W1 intersected 17.8 metres from 420 metres at 10.1% zinc equivalent and 280g/t silver equivalent (83g/t silver, 4.0% lead, 3.8% zinc, 0.1% copper); the same hole also intersected 11.8 metres from 426 metres at 13.2% zinc equivalent and 366g/t silver equivalent (115g/t silver, 5.0% lead, 4.8% zinc, 0.2% copper); and 5.4 metres from 432.4 metres at 19.5% zinc equivalent and 540g/t silver equivalent (173g/t silver, 7.9% lead, 6.5% zinc, 0.3% copper). Drill hole WMDD6391W1 returned 14.1 metres from 394.8 metres at 9.4% zinc equivalent and 261g/t silver equivalent (36g/t silver, 3.2% lead, 5.4% zinc, 0.2% copper); and 11.1 metres from 420.0 metres at 9.0% zinc equivalent and 248g/t silver equivalent (40g/t silver, 3.1% lead, 4.9% zinc, 0.1% copper).
Mineralogical analysis indicates that Centenary has a close affinity with the Main Lode mineralisation and may offer a potential step-change in both grade and scale. Centenary was discovered in 1983, a century after the discovery of the Rasp Main Lode, and lies beneath the Globe-Vauxhall Shear, with a structural setting distinct from the shallower Main Lode and Western Mineralisation bodies currently feeding the Rasp operation. Despite more than four decades since its discovery, Centenary remains one of the least drilled zones in the Rasp system, with only 24 drill holes having entered the mineralised body to date. Most of these were surface holes, with little follow-up drilling over the past 25 years. The company stated that visual inspection of the latest drill hole WMDD6389A (located between WMDD6391W1 and WMDD6400W1) indicates a further successful intersection of a mineralised zone up to 35 metres thick, with assay results pending.
BHM will further define the tonnage and grade upside of Centenary over the coming months. Additional drilling in the area is underway to further delineate the new discovery and set exploration targets, ahead of a planned MRE (Mineral Resource Estimate) upgrade in Q4 2026. Further assay results from WMDD6389 are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
