(CWE) won the bids for Contract Packages 1B and 1C of the Greater Manila East Water Supply Tunnel Design and Build Project in the Philippines. The project scope covers water supply tunnels, shafts, steel water conveyance pipes, and associated electromechanical and automatic control systems.

The project is located in the eastern part of the Greater Manila area in the Philippines, with the alignment starting in Antipolo City and ending at the Pasig Water Treatment Plant. The two contract packages will construct a water supply tunnel with a total length of approximately 15 kilometers and an inner diameter of 3.1 meters, designed with a water conveyance capacity of about 918,000 cubic meters per day.

The tunnel works will be carried out using a double-shield hard rock tunnel boring machine and an earth pressure balance shield machine, respectively, along with the construction of 2 permanent shafts and 2 temporary launching shafts. The consortium will also be responsible for the supply and installation of steel water conveyance pipes, electromechanical and metal structures, and automatic control systems.
