FEP and Finland's Aurinkokarhu Form Joint Venture to Develop 3 GW of Projects
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Futureal Energy Partners (FEP) has partnered with Finnish renewable energy developer Aurinkokarhu Oy to jointly develop approximately 3 GW of solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid projects in Finland. FEP is the energy division of Futureal Group, a real estate company focused on the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market.

Aurinkokarhu stated that this joint venture will support the development of its 3 GW project pipeline in Finland and serve as a springboard for the company's expansion into other Nordic countries. The company primarily focuses on large-scale energy and data center projects.
The Finnish company's project pipeline includes 2 GW of battery energy storage systems under development, 1 GW of solar PV, and several hybrid projects combining power generation with storage. The company expects approximately 1 GW of these projects to reach ready-to-build status in 2026, with the remaining projects planned to reach that status in 2027 and 2028.
Andreas Renfält, co-founder and CEO of Aurinkokarhu, stated that batteries are an important yet overlooked component of the energy transition. Every megawatt-hour of storage capacity built allows the grid to accommodate more renewable energy without compromising supply reliability, while also smoothing the most severe electricity price spikes for ordinary consumers.
FEP also revealed that this partnership covers an early-stage project pipeline of over 0.8 GW in Finland and Sweden over the coming years. Under the collaboration, Aurinkokarhu is responsible for local development capabilities, while FEP provides financial and transactional support.
FEP noted that Finland is one of Europe's most attractive markets for renewable energy and energy storage, with significant potential for developing high-quality renewable energy projects in the country. This partnership builds on the companies' previous Tuovila BESS transaction, which was completed in March 2026 and marked FEP's official entry into the Finnish market.
