Moldova's second wind power tender allocates 170 MW, paired with battery storage

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension Network News, Moldova's Ministry of Energy has completed its second onshore wind power and accompanying energy storage tender, with seven onshore wind projects totaling 170 MW of capacity selected.

Winning bidders include Lumina Noastra Consortium (four projects, totaling 54 MW), Navitas Energy Consortium (40.5 MW), Summa FIBA Enerji (40.5 MW), and a joint venture of Leafwind Energy Srl and Oromaxmontaj Srl (35 MW).

Winning bid prices range from 1.2398 to 1.2528 lei/kWh (excluding VAT), below the ceiling of 1.44 lei/kWh set by the regulatory authority. According to Renewables Now, the average winning price in this round is approximately 0.621 euros/kWh.

Each wind project must be paired with a battery energy storage system (BESS), with a minimum storage configuration of 0.25 MWh of storage per MW of wind capacity. Winning bidders will be awarded 15-year power purchase agreements, and projects must be completed and operational within 36 months of award.

Moldova's first wind power and storage tender was completed in 2025. This round received 16 bids from 9 investors, with requested capacity exceeding 423 MW, far surpassing the 170 MW tender scale.
