en.Wedoany.com Reported - B&T Composites (Florina, Greece) has developed a custom sandwich panel solution for long-term outdoor exposure in demanding marine environments, used to manufacture large, lightweight composite panels.

The panels feature carbon fiber prepreg skins with a PVC foam core, exceeding 3.5 meters in length and up to 30 millimeters in thickness. According to B&T Composites, the layup and core configuration are determined entirely by the specific structural and environmental requirements of the application, rather than being a simple adaptation of existing standard panel specifications.

This project was completed entirely in-house by B&T Composites from start to finish, covering all stages including engineering design, prepreg layup, manufacturing, and protective surface finishing.

This marine panel project is one of the company's recent development activities. As a five-time CW Top Shops award winner, B&T Composites installed a multi-material automated fiber placement (AFP) system from Mikrosam in early 2026 to expand its thermoplastic and thermoset production capacity. The company also recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Dynamit Nobel Defence to explore supporting defense projects with composite components, a move that is part of its strategy to extend its filament winding, AFP, and precision machining capabilities into end markets such as marine and defense.
