en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, Meishen Zambia, a subsidiary of Hebei Meishen Technology Co., Ltd., was shortlisted as a bid winner for the magnesium oxide procurement project of Deziwa Mining, ranking first among the winning candidates in both bidding sections. According to the section award rules of the bidding project, the company is expected to secure one of the sections, involving a supply of 1,800 tons of magnesium oxide.

The purchaser for this project is Deziwa Mining Co., Ltd., and the products will be supplied to the Deziwa copper-cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for use in cobalt precipitation and hydrometallurgical processing. Magnesium oxide can serve as a neutralization and precipitation material, causing cobalt ions in the solution to form cobalt intermediate products, and is one of the chemical raw materials required for copper-cobalt hydrometallurgical production.

The Deziwa copper-cobalt mine is located in Lualaba Province, DRC, and is operated by Deziwa Mining, a joint venture established by China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. and Gécamines, a state-owned mining enterprise of the DRC. The project commenced commercial production in 2020, with an annual design capacity of 80,000 tons of copper and 8,000 tons of cobalt.

Meishen Zambia is a wholly-owned subsidiary established by Hebei Meishen Technology in Africa, responsible for local market development and supply chain organization. Its inclusion in Deziwa Mining's supplier system will bring its magnesium oxide products into the hydrometallurgical supply chain of large-scale copper-cobalt mines in the DRC. The final supply arrangements, contract amount, and delivery schedule remain subject to the official award notice and procurement contract.
